CFP: Restructuring Violence in the Spanish-Speaking World

"Our objective is to compile a series of essays that examine the practices and experiences of violence as they are tied to socio-economic, political, and cultural developments in today's post 9/11 and 11-M world. This collection will consist of essays on the manifestations of violence in areas such as economic/cultural globalization, human rights, the crisis of the nation-state, worldwide struggles against terrorism, expanding international crime, drug and human-trafficking, racial and gender violence, etc. We welcome work of a theoretical nature, essays that focus on forms and practices of violence, and texts that explore expressions of violence via various types of cultural production."
